It was a big year of organisational change for many companies across the globe. As a workplace management tool, our software was more often than not on the frontlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/the-great-resignation\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Great Resignation<\/span><\/a> was possibly the biggest issue facing HR departments with record numbers of employees voluntarily leaving their posts. The second was the emergence of the <a href=\"\/moving-to-a-hybrid-workplace-model\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hybrid workplace model<\/span><\/a> and how that would be integrated into the operations of companies. So how did OrgChart evolve this year to help meet the new challenges HR leaders faced in 2021?<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"_pebox2bvq3i\"><\/a>Collaborative Planning Enhancements<\/h3>\n<p>We all learned new ways to collaborate differently in the past two years. At the same time, strategizing and planning was never more important during this time of dramatic change. OrgChart\u2019s timely release of <a href=\"\/collaborative-planning-module\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Collaborative Planning<\/span><\/a> made it easier for company stakeholders to make and track changes of their organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Clear visual representations of before and after scenarios, real-time modeling containing key HR data changes and detailed activity tracking are all useful features of the software. Especially crucial when teams are no longer sitting in a boardroom together but dispersed across locations and even time zones.<\/p>\n<p>Some key improvements that were made to the module following customer feedback in 2021 were:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Move Out<\/strong> &#8211; indicate clearly when an employee is transferred outside the scope of a plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Auto-Calculation of Metrics<\/strong> &#8211; Metrics intelligently recalculate themselves when needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manager Rollup Handling<\/strong> &#8211; When suppressing or moving a manager, decisions can be made on what should happen with their subordinates.<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-40919 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orgchartpro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-3.gif\" alt=\"2021 OrgChart Year in Review, Urgent Needs, Strong Solutions\" width=\"1280\" height=\"642\" \/><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>OrgChart\u2019s Manager Rollup Function<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"_jl4vktiyv9dl\"><\/a>Point in Time<\/h3>\n<p>In regulated industries\u2014such as banks, pharmaceutical and educational organisations\u2014there is often a need to produce a chart for a specific point in time. Our clients are quickly able to pull up versions of their org charts of a requested date within minutes using <a href=\"\/meeting-regulatory-requirements\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">OrgChart Now\u2019s Point In Time<\/span><\/a> feature. Creating and maintaining org charts with OrgChart has the advantage of being able to save historical data in a readily retrievable form for audits and other regulatory controls.
